A Historic Tribute to Two Test Legends
Cricketing giants Sir James Anderson and Sachin Tendulkar will be forever immortalized as the England–India men’s Test series will now be officially played for the Anderson–Tendulkar Trophy.
This prestigious change was jointly announced by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) ahead of the upcoming Rothesay five-match Test series, starting 20 June 2025 at Headingley.
🏆 About the Anderson–Tendulkar Trophy
This new trophy will replace the Pataudi Trophy and Anthony De Mello Trophy in all future England–India Test series — home or away. However, the legacy of the Pataudi family continues with the introduction of a Pataudi Medal for the winning captain.
- The trophy showcases action imagery and engraved signatures of Anderson and Tendulkar.
- A symbol of elite cricket, the trophy reflects decades of excellence, rivalry, and respect between India and England.

- James Anderson: 188 Tests, 704 wickets – the highest ever for a fast bowler.
Against India: 149 wickets in 39 matches @ 25.47 average
🎖 Knighted for services to cricket in 2024 - Sachin Tendulkar: 200 Tests, 15,921 runs – the highest in Test history.
Against England: 2,535 runs in 32 Tests @ 51.73 average
